Representation

During the last Fall semester in R521 course, Scott, Megan, Kei, and I developed an instructional module for elementary school teachers to integrate comedy into their classes to improve students' engagement . After analysis of the effect of comedy on students' learning, we have understood that humor can reduce students' stress, provide  an equal teaching and learning environment, and increase students' motivation toward learning.

For this semester, we have decided to focus on the same subject. Therefore, our target audience is going to be 1-4 grades elementary school teachers. A new member, Peter, has joined our group. Our purpose will be helping the teachers to understand how to integrate humor into their classrooms to make a better student engagement. We will teach them how an why they need to use humorous elements. During this process, we have to be very careful because our audience will going to apply our ideas on some special groups. 1-4 grades students are very sensitive group. Therefore, our project requires a kind of professionalism.

I hope we will have great time with our project during the semester.

    Remzi,

    I'm glad your group is continuing this project this semester because I thought this was a very interesting topic and you did a nice job with the instruction last semester. What types of graphic representations (images, pics, graphs, etc) might you include in this project? What design considerations will you need to make concerning those representations?

    Hi John,

    Thank you for your comment. I have a teaching background from my country.Therefore, I really know that we need to be careful in terms of delivery method because 1-4 grades students are very important. Actually, we haven't decided yet what kind of graphic representations we need to include and what should be our design considerations. We are still working on it. However, we really know we need to be professional as much as possible. If you have further considerations or comments, please don't hesitate to share with me.
